A Fishing Guide or ghillie will help you get the most from your day, particularly if you have not fished the water before; they will help you with spotting fish, choosing flies and getting rid of those annoying wind knots!

Why play a round of golf with a caddy, when one can play with the Club Professional. This analogy fits our fly fishing guides and instructors exactly. We work with a number of fully qualified instructors and guides that are all expert chalkstream fishers and have firsthand knowledge of the water itself as well as the local area and its natural history. The guides can provide daily transportation to and from the Inn if required.

TUITION
Whether you are a beginner, improver, or someone requiring a brush-up lesson on a specific technique, a one-on-one lesson is a helpful tool for fly fishing. Our professional instructors are all very experienced GAIA members and hold qualifications at AAPGAI, GAIA and Level2 CAA standard.

Our instructors are qualified Sports Coaches. They hold a fishcoach.org licence for game angling, a requirement for undertaking public authority coaching duties.

Each has worldwide cover to £5,000,000 public liability insurance, holds a valid first aid certificate, has been checked by the Criminal Records Bureau and has completed the 'Good Practice in Child Protection Awareness' training programme.

Should you choose to take a lesson you will cover such topics as casting, entomology, knots and river etiquette and chalk stream methods. The price includes the use of a rod, reel and line should you not own the correct kit.

Salmon and Spey Casting lessons as well as saltwater lessons can be arranged on request.
